I like to work hard and play hard. The following links will show a bit of the few things I like to do outside of the office. I have been a Sierra Club trip leader for the last 30+ years, and lead Service Trips in the Southwest US a few times a year.

Sierra Club Service Trips

I am addicted to Sierra Club Service trips. These are trips where you *PAY* to slave away doing manual labor in some of the most wonderful places on the planet. It is not for the timid or someone not willing to leave the path most taken.

No Facebook Please

Mea culpa

I must first apologize for not being on anything that smells like social media. I have no Facebook page, no Google+, no Twitter account, no Snapchat, no Digg page (but alas, I do know the lingo). I also do not IM, TXT (as in send text messages - heck, I can't even read them!), or blog and in fact have never owned a cell phone (let alone a "smart" phone).

I do however live on-line for business, but try heroically to remain off-line for the rest of my life. I do read my email (and have too many email accounts) and sometimes even answer one of my many phones. So communications with me is best by email, with phone a distant second and faxing (no laughing) a close third.

So please do not feel snubbed if I ignore any "friend-ing" requests.

Current 2024 Service Trips

In 2024 I will lead Three service trips to my beloved Southwest. The First will be a return to Arches National Park in the spring. This trip starts on April 28th and runs to May 4th, 2024. A full trip description can be found HERE.

The second trip will be a return to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in Grand Canyon National Park. This service trip is a vegatation trip to repair the Park's grounds and trails. This trip is a perfect introduction to camping and usually fills up fast. This trip starts on August 18th and runs to August 24th, 2024. A full trip description can be found HERE.

The third trip will be a return to Island in the Sky, in Canyonlands National Park in September. A full trip description can be found HERE.

Proposed Future Service Trips

I expect to lead three service trips to my beloved Southwest in 2025, but time will tell. The first trip will be another Arches work and wonder trip sometime in May.

The second trip will attempt to return to Island in the Sky, Canyonlands National Park.

And the third trip I am currently planning would be a return trip to Bryce or the North Rim in the fall, if they will have us again.
